Testimonials
I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we have shared for the past 1.5 years. It’s not every day that one has the privilege of working under the guidance of a mentor who is as innovative, bold and joyful as you are.
Your vibrant spirit and ground-breaking ideas have not only propelled our team to new heights but have also made our workplace a hub of creativity and enthusiasm. Thank you for everything, and please stay in touch.
Namrata - Coventry University
On behalf of the team I wanted to thank you all again for your time and input into this important project. We were one of the few exam boards to get all submitted qualifications approved, and your input will have contributed towards that. I cannot stress enough how grateful we were.
Ria - Pearson (BTEC Engineering)
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support during your time here.
Dyaa - Better Futures
I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to have worked with you, even for a short while. It’s been an honour to witness your approach to leadership and to gain insights from your experience.
Henry - CURA Recruitment
I wanted to express my sincere thanks for your leadership and the many things I’ve learned under your guidance. Your influence has been greatly appreciated.
Asia - School of Mechanical Engineering
Your leadership and guidance has allowed the Lab, and myself, to take conceptual ideas and turn them into tangible outcomes which support Faculty, professional services, and wider CUG staff and students. Without the mentoring and support you provide, I don't believe we would have produced, or will continue to produce, outputs of such quality and value. Thank you Alan!
Oliver - Disruptive Media Learning Lab
A big thank you for the work you have done to provide MAA with an excellent start to 'blended' delivery. Both the playbook and the delivery to all 8 cascade groups were very professionally presented and received well by staff. Great job!
Wendy - Motorsport, Aerospace, and Aviation
I just wanted to leave a brief note to express my gratitude for Alan's help on creating materials for the module 7019CRB Reviewing Literature in Education. I asked Alan for some last-minute advice on how to create an effective lego-based task to scaffold understanding of literature reviews in context for a cohort of PhD students. He not only took time to give really insightful advice and explanations, but then also designed and created the materials for a substantial activity. And he did all this within a week of our initial conversation. I feel like he went above and beyond, and in an extremely busy period where everything is a little uncertain, I appreciate the help and his positive attitude immensely. It's definitely the highlight of my teaching experience so far this term!
Sian - Faculty of Arts & Humanities
Thank you for giving my apprentices such an interesting introduction to the SPRINT process this morning. You've given them the confidence to make a start and modelled some of the critical friend skills that they are going to need on their journey. I'm sure that they will have plenty to share with colleagues when back in their workplaces on Monday - you're a great ambassador for the University!
David - CBiS
Alan delivered a very interactive guest session to MBA students studying Project Management. His ability to enthuse students is unmatched and so also is his encyclopaedic knowledge of current happenings in the Project Management environment. The students enjoyed his session so much and were challenged by some of the ideas postulated by Alan. He was also able to help the students deconstruct an aspect of their assessment that the students were struggling to grasp. Overall, Alan has once demonstrated that he is an asset to any University!
Anthony - Queen's Belfast
Thanks for your facilitation of the EEC Deanery Leadership Team session last week. Your enthusiasm and knowledgeable approach got results from the team and encouraged us to work together. Looking forward to seeing what came out of the event.
Catherine - Chair of Heilbronn Institute for Mathematics
I have worked with Alan for the first time this year. The preparation of materials was first class and far more comprehensive than I have seen in any other instance. Everything I could need was made available by Alan. I was impressed from the outset of the module by Alan's style and approach to the management of participants. He supported participants fully, but ensured that they were treated as adult learners and that they accepted and understood their own responsibilities in the learning process. This mirrored my own belief of adult learning and sat comfortably with me. To conclude I have enjoyed immensely being involved as part of the team for this module this cycle. Thank you Alan and well done.
Paul - Police Officer (Retired)
It's fair to say Alan has been a constant source of genuine, consistent support and regular inspiration to me since I joined the business. I have learned a great deal from him in almost every conversation, and meeting. These invaluable lessons, and open sharing of experience, really give me the best starting point and foundation for the new career I have started building. While much of it is about bringing energy and memorable moments to the interactions, it is also underpinned by pragmatic advice about minimising time spent on admin so that the maximum time can be given in a value added way to the business. Chaos and order in the right measures, so to speak. It has been an enlightening and thought-provoking time working with him; and long may that continue. He is also quite simply a genuinely interesting person who makes a significant impact on colleagues and trainees alike.
Neil - SFT
A big thank you to the team for delivering a brilliant masterclass for our UNIty group (young people with Care Experience). It was a brilliant experience for the young people; to hear about the future of Engineering and AI technology as well as having a manufacturing activity they could be a part of. Feedback from the young people and partners was extremely positive.
Virtual Schools: ‘Thanks for the feedback, it was a really good session on Tuesday. The academics did a great job with the young people.’ ‘I certainly enjoyed the event and especially liked the Manufacturing Engineering masterclass. I would definitely like to see the academics work with our young people again.’ Foster parent of one of the young people: ‘...just want to say a huge thanks as always as I think these events are an amazing opportunity for these kids. ‘X’ really wants to come to Coventry Uni too he really loves the campus and that is just from attending these events and not even an Open day’. Thank you for providing the young people with the fantastic opportunity.
Liam - UNIty
I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the incredible support you've provided me. The LEGO Serious Play sessions were a hit! Not only did the students adore them, but I also found myself learning some new and exciting things along the way! Additionally, shadowing your sessions and especially the supervisory meetings for the Master's dissertation have truly been game-changers. Your insights have significantly enhanced both my practice and personal development. Moreover, the experience I gained from participating in the open days has been immensely valuable to me. Being part of these events has broadened my perspective and added a new dimension to my professional growth. Your continuous support means everything to me. Thank you for always going the extra mile to guide and inspire. I deeply appreciate your ongoing support.
